WELCOME TO CENTRAL VIRGINIA UNITED Raising the Bar for Youth Soccer in Central Virginia
Central Virginia United (CVU), formerly Lynchburg United Soccer (LUS) is affiliated with the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) and its youth soccer division, the United States Youth Soccer Association (USYSA) through the Virginia Youth Soccer Association (VYSA).
Our Travel Program (highest level of play - competitive) competes primarily in the Skyline Club Soccer League (SCSL) with the top team in each age group and gender playing in the Leagues Premier Division. Additional Classic Level Travel Teams are placed in the appropriate Classic Division as determined by the CVU Director of Coaching. In some cases, a top level Travel Team(s) may play in the Virginia Soccer League (VSLI) if a higher level of competition is available. The Travel Program begins at the U11 age group through U18 or U19 in some cases, for both Boys and Girls. The Travel Program is run by the full time CVU Director or Coaching. CVU Travel Players have become the top school players in Central Virginia...
We also offer an Academy Program at the U9 & U10 age groups for Boys & Girls. The Academy Level Program is a mid-level program designed to properly prepare players technically for the highest level program (Travel). This is done through "travel level" training and competitive (but fun), festival play in our region of the state. The Academy Program is run by the full time CVU Technical Director.
We also offer our grassroots Developmental Recreation Soccer Program for youths ages 4 1/2 to 17. The focus of the "REC" Program is to develop a love for the game, have fun and learn the basics... Like all recreational soccer programs, the "REC" Program is coached by volunteer coaches, while the program itself is managed by the professional soccer staff at CVU.
CVU is the Premier Soccer Club in Central Virginia
In the event of inclement weather please call the CVU cancellation line to determine the status of practice or games at: (434) 846-6544.

| CVU's U15 Girls Elite and U18 Girls Elite Teams Finalist's at the Fredericksburg Cup! - Monday, August 23, 2010
CVU's U15 Girls Elite and U18 Girls Elite Teams Finalist's at the Fredericksburg Cup!

CVU's Three Girls Elite teams traveled to Fredericksburg over the weekend to compete in the Fredericksburg Cup Preseason Tournament.
The CVU U16 Girls Elite Team competed very well winning one match while dropping two, but was very competitive in both matches.
Complete Results for the U16 Girls Elite Team can be found by CLICKING HERE.
The CVU U18 Girls Elite Team stormed through their preliminary matches and Semi-Final leading up to their Championship Match vs. CASA CAPA from Pennsylvania. On a corner-kick in the opening minutes a CVU defender, doing a great job defending the near post blocked a shot, however, on a very poor call by officials, they claimed she handled the ball and then issued her a red-card. This resulted in the team having to play the entire match a man down.
The CVU U18 Girls showed what type of character they had playing that match 11 vs. 10… Our Girls struck first and had a 1 – 0 lead at half-time. Early in the second half the CASA team tied the match and would eventually score once again for the win.
Their was no doubt that had our girls been able to play with 11 players, the result would likely have been different.
Well Done U18’s!
Complete Results for the U18 Girls Elite Team can be found by CLICKING HERE.
The CVU U15 Girls Elite Team struggled finishing goal scoring chances all weekend, but managed to play well enough on Saturday to earn two draws (2 – 2 & 3 – 3) advancing them to the Semi-Final Round against the Richmond Kickers South team who won their group.
Finishing continued to be a problem in the semi-final and the girls found themselves down 1 – 0 at half-time. But as they did all weekend when behind they continued to battle hard and managed to score the tying goal before full-time.
Just before the start of over-time, a thunder storm rolled into the area and they went into a storm delay… after sitting for nearly 30 minutes the first over-time resumed, then into the second over-time, Taylor Tester struck a great shot past the Kickers Gk and the CVU Girls advanced into the Championship Match.
The Championship match would see the CVU U15 Girls play the FASA Elite team (from the host club). On Saturday the two teams played a very entertaining 3 – 3 match that was very back and forth.
The Championship match was much of the same and after full-time and two overtime periods nothing could be settled as the match was still tied at 1 – 1…
The match was then determined on Penalties… Unfortunately, our Girls were not able to win the PK’s, but they played with a tremendous amount of grit having to play the championship match after a storm delayed semi-final over-time that ended up giving them just 25 minutes break before the final.
Well Done U15’s!
Complete Results for the U15 Girls Elite Team can be found by CLICKING HERE.
Congratulations again to all three Girls Elite teams for playing and representing yourselves and your club with great pride!

| CVU Receives “Day of Caring” Gifts from Belvac & Areva! - Thursday, May 13, 2010
CVU Receives “Day of Caring” Gifts from Belvac & Areva!
Wednesday, May 12th was the United Way Day of Caring, and Central Virginia United Soccer Club was the benefactors of some very generous gifts in the form of hard working volunteers and materials from Belvac Production Machinery, Inc. and Areva, Inc. These folks did terrific work that our club and membership can be very thankful for.
Belvac Production Machinery, Inc. completed two projects at the club’s soccer complex that were very needed…

They cleaned out the area around the complex dedication monument and placed fresh mulch around the monument (photos below):

They also completed a major project in front of the “Tommy Denham” Eagle Project Concession Stand. The area just in front of the overhang would routinely become a muddy mess after rain. As you can see in the photos below, the folks from Belvac installed a bricked patio area in front of the concession stand so that we no longer have a “mud puddle” there. This was a major job requiring extensive work and materials (photos below):

We cannot say “thank you” enough to Belvac Production Machinery and their staff of volunteers for this wonderful gift of caring to CVU and our members!
Areva, Inc. completed a “picnic table” project that will allow our club to begin work on having a new “family picnic area” at the club’s soccer complex, which is also very needed…

They brought in treated wood and put together 3 picnic tables, and water sealed them. These picnic tables will be placed in an area adjacent to the concession stand that will be cleared out and will become an area for our members, their families and guests to relax (photos below):

We cannot say “thank you” enough to Areva and their staff of volunteers for this wonderful gift of caring to CVU and our members!
