2008 Travel Camp Staff
Camp Director: Steve Senna
Coach Senna is club director for Lynchburg United. His coaching credentials include the NSCAA Advanced National Diploma, USSF National “C” License & NSCAA High School Special Topics Diploma. He is the current head coach of the 2008 west district 1992/93 girls ODP pool and served as the head coach for the west district 1993 boys ODP pool from 2006 – 2007. Prior to coming to Lynchburg, Coach Senna served as an assistant men’s Soccer Coach at Virginia Wesleyan College in Virginia Beach (2003 – 2005) during his time at VWC the men’s team had a combined three year record of 41 – 15 – 4, with 2 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championship’s, 2 Appearances in the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament. Coach Senna has over 15 years of club coaching experience with Old Dominion Soccer Club, Beach FC, Chesapeake Select Soccer Club (now Chesapeake United) and LUS. He has led former club teams to the VA State Cup Elite Eight on two occasions (2002 & 2003) and has won 3 League Division Championships in addition to numerous Tournament Championships and Finalist showings to include some prestigious tournaments such as; The CASL Shootout (NC), Kirkwood (DE), Virginia Beach Sun Cup and Virginia Rush Memorial Day Soccerfest to name a few. He is the former boys head coach at Virginia Beach Middle School in Virginia Beach, VA.
Camp Coach/GK Coach: Laura Comeau
Coach Comeau is the former U19 U.S. Women’s National Team Goalkeeper. During her time with the National Team she earned a Bronze Medal at the World Championship’s in Thailand. As a high school player Laura was a four year starter. She was recruited to play at the University Of Virginia (UVA); however, unfortunately her college career was cut short due to back injury from an automobile accident. Laura is a on the SoccerPlus Camp Staff run by Tony DiCicco, the former U.S. Women’s National Team Coach. Laura recently completed taking her USSF National “D” License and is looking forward to her coaching career and working with the Lynchburg United Travel Players!
Camp Coach: Lars Agren
Coach Agren is a native of Sweden where he played club soccer from the youth level to adult. He holds a UEFA B License, the Swedish FA Badge, the NSCAA Advanced Regional and Goalkeeping Level I Diplomas. Coach Agren is the former coach for Glenvar High School (boys) and at Hollins University. Presently Coach Agren is the head coach for the 2008 west district 1995 boys ODP pool. He is also the strength and conditioning coach for the Roanoke Star Soccer Club and the U15 boy’s premier head coach.
Camp Fitness, Plyometrics & Injury Prevention Coach: Miles Tranks
Coach Tranks is the assistant girls coach at E.C. Glass High School in Lynchburg. He is also the fitness and GK coach for the girls program at E.C. Glass High School. Coach Tranks is a fireman and is the assistant coach for the LUS U16 Girls Elite team. He holds a NSCAA Regional and Goalkeeping Level I & II Diplomas. He also has 4 NSCAA Special Topics Diplomas.
Camp Coach: Armando Corrales
Coach Corrales is a former head travel coach with Lynchburg United. He was names Travel/Competitive Coach of the year in 2007 as the head coach of the U14 Girls White team. Coach Corrales holds a USSF National “D” License and an NSCAA Advanced Regional Diploma. He is a former Division I collegiate player from Liberty University here in Lynchburg. He has also played professionally for the Richmond Kickers.
Camp Coach: Adam Godwin
Coach Godwin is a native from the UK where he played his football (soccer) in the English club system. He currently holds an NSCAA National Diploma. Adam is the former assistant woman’s soccer coach at Liberty University, and served as the interim head coach. He is currently the team trainer for the LUS U18 Girls Elite team.
Camp Coach: Darien McClurg
Coach McClurg is the girls head coach at E.C. Glass High School in Lynchburg and the head coach of the LUS U16 Girls Elite team. In 2008, Coach McClurg led High School team to a record of 15 – 4 – 1, setting school records for wins and goals scored in a single season. Additionally his Hilltopper ladies went deeper into the state division AAA playoffs then ever in school history. Coach McClurg holds an NSCAA Advanced Regional Diploma.
Camp Coach: Montana Gibson
Coach Gibson is a midfielder at Randolph College in Lynchburg. Prior to transferring and playing at Randolph College, he played at Lynchburg College. He has experience working at camps such as Liberty University and at the University of Virginia.
Camp Coach: Erin Wilson
Coach Wilson is a recent graduate, team captain and four year standout defender at E.C. Glass High School in Lynchburg. In her four years at Glass she won four Western Valley District Championships. She was named 1st team All-District and North West 1st team Honorable Mention. She will be attending the University of Richmond in the fall.

Times: Boys 9 AM - 12 Noon; Girls 5 - 8 PM
Camp Fee: $90.00 (Includes Camp T-Shirt)
About the Camp This Year…
The 2008 Camp will have a Dual Focus:
1. Injury Prevention/Plyometrics/Fitness
a. Every camper will get one full hour 3 of the 4 days dedicated to injury prevention!
2. Daily Tactical: Situational Training for a greater understanding of the Game
a. Team Defending
b. Creating Goal Scoring Opportunities in the Final Third
c. Set Pieces (Corner Kicks, Direct & In-Direct Free Kicks)
d. Team Transitioning (Defending to Attacking to Defending)
Daily Sessions will also Include:
1. Technical Warm-Up
2. Competitive Contests with prizes for winning teams/players
3. Contests will Include:
a. Penalty Kick Shootout Competition
b. Dribbling Skills Competition
c. 3 v 3 Tournament
d. 6 v 6 Penalty Area Crossing & Finishing Tournament
